Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This policy explains how Surrealism ("we", "us") — the macOS screensaver by the makers of Surrealism Today — handles personal information on surrealism.app and in the app. Surrealism is operated by [legal entity], [business address]. Questions: [email protected].
Information we collect
- Purchase & license. The name and email you provide at checkout, and the license key we issue. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never receive or store your full card details.
- Support messages. The name, email, and message you send via our contact form (processed by Formspree) or by email.
- Technical data. Standard information your browser sends (such as IP address and device/browser type) and, where enabled, privacy-friendly usage analytics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use it
- Deliver your purchase and license, and provide the app and downloads.
- Provide support and respond to your messages.
- Keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run Surrealism, under their own privacy terms: Stripe (payments), Formspree (contact form), our email provider (license & support email), Netlify (hosting), and Cloudflare/R2 (downloads). We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep purchase and license records for as long as needed to provide the product and to meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize them.
Your rights (GDPR / UK)
If you're in the EEA or UK, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, and object to certain processing. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it, and you may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. To exercise any right, email [email protected].
Your rights (California — CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email [email protected].
Children
Surrealism is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be noted here.
